Tartalmi kivonat: | Metropolitan areas are the most rapidly transforming and the most mosaic regions of our time. However, the settlement level analysis of these areas hides most of the local processes and factors. Abundant number of papers have been published about mapping the inner structures of metropolitan regions in the literature, but in many cases, these discuss only one dimension of social division. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to aggregate two different spatial dimensions by including indicators of electoral behaviour and basic social patterns in order to identify factors influencing and defining voter behaviour. During the aggregation process of the census tracts – containing the basic social indicators – and the polling station areas – containing the election results –, it was outlined, that in many cases it is necessary to disrupt the divisional structure in order to keep the high spatial resolution. |
