Tartalmi kivonat: | Dealing with a theme means that the person who handles the topic is to some extent interested in it. I chose this topic because I am interested in it nevertheless I would mostly recommend this thesis to those people who have barely heard about jazz and would like to get a little closer to the subject. My choice is closely connected to the history of Black people. Their drift, the discrimination, the fact that they could not live in their homeland, this way not being able to practice their own religion, all these had a big effect on me. Jazz is the music we have to listen to attentively. I have tried to write down into words the way it sounds, its melody and musicality, the meaning of it for Black people although it can not be noted what this music gives to one when listening to it. Archaic jazz, the blues, ragtime and the new trends that now are starting to go back to the original roots are all carrying in themselves the original sounds of jazz. However swing music has driven jazz into other direction, it still was the most popular form of the 1930-1940s. The most characteristic feature of jazz is improvisation that was brought from Africa, was developed further on the plantations, then Black people made attempts to preserve it. Yet what does imptovisation mean? It means playing music by ear, spontaneously in the form of expressing inside thoughts and feelings. The language of the Black man in the South also resembles to music, the Southerner accent being full of musicality, the way they talk is like moving some kind of an instrument.Their rhythmical sense is very developed as well. Finally I hope I have aroused a little the interest of the reader. I think it is worth listening to jazz music once in a lifetime in order to get a general, pleasant feeling while hearing the unique, harmonious original Black song. |
