The choice of these novels proved to be excellent because I could follow and examine the development of Austen's characters that I will demonstrate in my thesis. In her novels, Austen shows different aspects of women's role in society. Her female characters are always in search of finding their ideal mate. This focus on getting married shows that it is the only way for women to secure their financial status in society. |
