Tartalmi kivonat:My thesis is an attempt to clarify certain territories of teaching speaking English. My aim in the thesis is to examine some questions and also techniques concerning improving of speaking ability. I concentrate on the communicative side of teaching process and do not deal with pronunciation and intonation. Teaching speaking is very much in vogue at present. If we are seriously interested in a territory of language teaching which will develop the ability to speak, then we must investigate the communication as a teaching aim. Such a commitment involves the abilities that are engaged in creating it. Using contemporary literature and modern linguistic research results I demonstrate how hard teaching speaking, as part of communicative competence is in our all the time changing world, where at the same time we meet the old and the new views of teaching in confrontation with each other. This is the main concern of my thesis. The commitment involves, too, an attempt to think out the possible pedagogic procedures which lead the learners towards the ability to speak. My thesis partly represents such an attempt, and my aim is to demonstrate how effectively different types of speaking activities can be used as tools in teachers' hands during the process of teaching. I will outline the rationale and benefits of them. I will report on the results of the questionnaires administered to my five, six and seven grade learners concluding with a short discussion of results of this research.. So my thesis is an appeal for investigation into the bases of an attitude and its practical implications.
