Tartalmi kivonat: | My BA Thesis presents a contrastive analysis of the most important racist organization in the USA, the Ku Klux Klan’s three periods. My research is based on the following question: In what ways has the racist attitude of the Ku Klux Klan changed throughout the various periods of the organization? My primery sources were two books and a documentary film. The books are The Southern Poverty Law Center’s The Ku Klux Klan: A History of Racism & Violence (1998). The other book is the Kloran: The Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, which was written by William J. Simmons, a KKK leader in the twenties. The ducumentary film is KKK: Beneath The Hood (Full Documentary) (2013) by the Discovery Chanel. My findings had shown that despite the Ku Klux Klan these days went through a lot of changes, they still have the same racist attitudes towards other ethnic groups in the USA. In order to answer my research question I focused on the major aspects, such as the leaders’ and organizations’ ideology, target groups the organization’s practices in the history and nowadays as well. I chose content analysis as my method during the investigation of the given data. I chose this topic as my BA Thesis, because I believe the question of racism has a significant role these days as well. |
