Tartalmi kivonat: | This thesis investigates why students learning English as a foreign language do not read well and have difficulties in second language reading and comprehension. I will demonstrate that there can be a connection between first and second language reading difficulties and methods. On the basis of PISA researches, competence survey results, and case studies, I will prove that the lack of using efficient reading strategies and skills results in slow reading and insufficient comprehension of written materials, though, the transfer of these techniques from one language into the other, and the popularisation of reading among students through the introduction of a reading programme could lead to significant development. |
