Tartalmi kivonat: | This thesis examines the novel ,Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, covering one particular aspect, which is deconstruction. This idea can be found on different levels of the work. I will focus on two of them: the first is revealing the story of Frankenstein as a story of anti-creation, while the second is revealing that this particular piece of Romantic writing is concerned with the destruction of the Romantic dream. In the first part, I will demonstrate that the novel can be brought into contrast with the Bible; while the latter one is interpreted as a story of construction, the first one is about deconstruction. Then I will prove that we can interpret Frankenstein, the scientist as a métáphol for the Romantic poet. I will argue that in his attempt to deliver life in full and forever, he delivers a humanist dream, associated as much with poetic as with scientific imagination. |
