| Tartalmi kivonat: | My study focuses on social work with women involved in prostitution. The social perception of prostitution is influenced by different approaches and their perspectives on prostitution: it raises important questions regarding women's rights, social inequalities, and both mental and sexual health. Social work with prostitutes is becoming increasingly important, and the purpose of my study was to examine how existing social work practices can be transformed to better address the needs of individuals involved in prostitution, and to explore the role of social workers in the social reintegration of prostitutes. While it is important to consider legal, sociological, and criminological definitions when examining prostitution, the concept cannot be based solely on the perspective of one field, as this could lead to discriminatory approaches. In my study, I defined prostitution by examining it from multiple perspectives. During the research, I relied on literature reviews to examine the legal regulations, the socio-demographic situation of prostitutes, the various types of prostitution, and the connection between violence against women and prostitution. I considered it important to explore the mental health challenges faced by women involved in prostitution, the specific needs of transgender people who are involved in prostitution, and the possible responses to their needs from a social work perspective. I investigated the stigmatization of prostitutes based on Erving Goffman's theory of social stigma. Furthermore, I examined both currently used and applicable social work methods that may support effective joint work with women involved in prostitution. |
