Tartalmi kivonat:In the compositions of J. S. Bach, viola da gamba has an extraordinary position among the instruments of the period. It is an instrument that comes closest to the human voice in terms of its sound colour. With its instrumental symbolism of sadness, and also of nobility, it is used in many sacred compositions to express sadness over the suffering of Jesus Christ – St John Passion, BWV 245 aria Es ist vollbracht!, St Matthew Passion, BWV 244 Komm, süsses Kreuz, as well as sadness over the death of a loved one – cantata Gottes zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit (Actus tragicus) BWV 106. In the approximately 20 - 25 years, music theoreticians have come to believe that theology and music were united in the work of J. S. Bach – Martin Geck, Martin Petzold and Helga Thoene.
