Tartalmi kivonat:The study reviews the last period of the history of the Hungarian province of the Augustinian friars in the three decades between 1526–1556, during which the province disappeared. So far, the historical research has focused on the medieval history of the province, while nowadays the early-modern church history and the history of monastic institutions have been renewed. With the help of comparative regional and international scientific studies, we can get a more nuanced picture of the functioning of the church institutions of that era. The life of the Hungarian Augustinians and their relatively quick disappearance can be more precisely reconstructed with the help of the minutes of the registries of prior generals and some additional sources.
