| Tartalmi kivonat: | The digitization of society creates both challenges and opportunities for prisons: prison systems are also being digitalized, and the latest examples of this development are Artificial Intelligence solutions. This article discusses the current use of Artificial Intelligence in prison setting (for the automation of security as well as for the rehabilitative aspect of prisonisation) and we also focus on the advantages and possible side effects of artificial technologies available in prisons. On the basis of the relevant literature Artificial Intelligence has the potential to improve efficiency of overburdened prison staff and human decision-making, provide opportunities to automate certain tasks, but also misusing of artificial technologies can lead negative and unintended consequences. |
