Tartalmi kivonat: | Gamification is becoming a buzzword in several areas of society and economy, thus there are more and more attempts to apply it in various fields (e.g., e-government, healthcare, education, business). However, many of these initiatives do not provide the expected results. The root of this issue is that currently there is no comprehensive and widely accepted theoretical framework that could wrap up the fragmented knowledge and tools of gamification. The aim of the study is to contribute to the development of an easy-to-adopt gamification framework by overviewing the current theories and linking them to key urban policy concepts. In the study two models (MDA and Octalysis) are presented in order to introduce the fundamental elements of a proper gamification design. In addition, the notions of gamification, digitalization and different city conceptions (i.e. smart city, creative city) are presented together, emphasizing their interconnectedness. These are key elements for future urban development studies; thus a developing and comprehensive theoretical framework would benefit both the theoretical and practical aspects of urban policy. Furthermore, it would include the tools and core ideas that would be applicable in the future studies. |
