Tartalmi kivonat:Today in our digital world people get in contact with the internet on daily basis. Out of the many possibilities, the online commerce is significant, because it improved greatly in the past few decades, so it brought the international market closer to the consumers with many opportunities. In an environment like this people can buy products and services really easily from across the world, even for pennies. However, it can be a dangerous: it may happen, that the ordered goods are fake, dysfunctional or it is even possible that we don’t get anything for our money. As this problem is current, it indicates a question: how could we solve the conflict in the easiest, fastest and cheapest way? A special situation like this needs specific solution: disputes being settled in cyberspace. Hungary, as a member of the European Union, had implemented the directive and regulation of the EU, so it became the task of our governance to make alternative dispute resolution for consumer disputes and to cooperate in creating online dispute resolution field for consumer dispute settlements. I intend to introduce the online dispute resolution from its place in the world of alternative dispute resolution to its history and regulation, with regard to some problematic issues. I also present the current regulatory situation in Hungary. I think it is important to highlight that online dispute resolution is a continuously developing method, which will improve in the future, so my study is just a glimpse of this dynamic and innovative process.
