| Tartalmi kivonat: | To date, little is known about the 19th century Hungarian children's literature, since they have not been brought into the field of research of press and literary history. In order for literature to be written specifically for children to emerge in the 19th century, long-term and far-reaching social, political, cultural and economic changes had to take place in Hungary. In my study I deal with the children's literature of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition to the children's literature of the period, from 1893 the Pesti Napló daily newspaper also published children's literary texts in the amount of 1–1,5 pages per Sunday. I viewed the Sunday issues of the daily newspaper from 1901 to 1905, so I have a large amount of text for those interested. In my study I talk about the most frequently published authors in the children's section of the Pesti Napló, and I write about the nature and purpose of the tales and the moral and ideological expectations of children. |
