Tartalmi kivonat:My study is concerned with the social security of the migrant workers of the European Union. First of all it is important to make clear who is to be regarded as such migrant worker. I apply this term for. those employees who are employed in a member state of the European Union that is different from the one they are the resident of. I thoroughly studied the main reasons of this migration. It is a long established and well known fact that migrant workers are exposed to more risk and danger than the employees working in their country of residence for the mere fact that employers think they don't have to be afraid of the authorities of another country even if that is also a member state of the EU. The risk of occupational diseases and accidents is raised by the fact that the migrant workers are usually employed for jobs the resident workers are not willing to do. These are often referred to as the three "d" jobs, meaning dirty, dangerous and demanding. Such jobs also involve a higher occupational risk. I studies the regulations and other kind of legislation of the European Union that is keen on preventing migrant workers from higher risks and higher rates of occupational accidents but my attention was mainly focused on the rules and make sure that social care is provided for the migrant workers who need it. At this point I focused on the social coordination of the EU. Beside the regulation of the integration I also studied the actual rules and practice of the workers in enforcing their- rights mainly showing the necessary steps they have -to take,- first of all the application for a European health insurance card.
