Leíró adatok
Tartalmi kivonat:A brooch-fastener was found on the Nagyszilvás rise within the town of Felsőzsolca, east of the city of Miskolc in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County (north-eastern Hungary), by a local inhabitant who presented it to the Hungarian National Museum. Close analogies of this silver-gilt, semi-spherical brooch-fastener, which is decorated with granite gemstones and plant ornamentation, are known both on 16th–17th-century depictions and in treasure hoards from the same period (uncovered at Radna, Tolna and Szombathely). Characteristically wives and daughters of better-off citizens in Hungary’s towns and market towns used to wear this type of jewellery. Based on the testimony of depictions from the period, between one and four pairs of such brooches were worn combined with a chain belt decorated in a similar style with trailer and flowers.
