| Tartalmi kivonat: | The overcrowding of the prisons is still an existing problem not only in Hungary but in many parts of the world. There are many solutions provided by the Council of Europe, the United Nations or by other non-governmental organizations. With the development of the technological issues the usage of the electronic monitoring is getting more and more promoted. We have to consider it not only as a supervisory tool, rather a legal instrument with punitive content. It can be used as a procedure law, substantive law and also as a prison law instrument. In my study I focus on the prison law aspects, which are namely the front-door electronic monitoring and the back-door electronic monitoring. According to that I examine the legal rules of the front-door electronic monitoring in different european countries selected out by certain aspects. My research goal is to find the most effective keypoints of the legal regulations which could be implemented in the hungarian prison law. It could be necessary, because we have already regulated the back-door electronic monitoring, but for the purpose of making it even more effective we have to think through the possibility to bring under regulation the idea of the front-door electronic monitoring. |
