Summary:In her study the author writes aboutthe veneration of Virgin Mary in nine Hungarian villages (belonging now to Slovakia). The Virgin Mary cult appears mainly in the paraliturgy. The region's sacred centre is the village Bény, where the holy well and the medieval church are the places of pilgrimage. The most important feast is on 8th October, on the day of Our Lady, Queen of the Hungarians. There is an active holy rosary confraternity in the village.
