Tartalmi kivonat: | The economic activity of persons with disability and reduced wok capacity shows a slight increase, but it is still significantly below the activity rate of the average population. Since Hungary’s accession to the European Union, the labour market situation of persons with disability and reduced work capacity has received special attention. Restructuring of the legislative background, narrowing the social care system, the creation of a non-discriminatory and employment enhancing economic environment are all governmental measures which have influenced the labour market situation of the affected social group in the past 15 years. Based on an overview of professional literature, current development policy documents, and legislative aspects, the study aims at exploring the economic, social and employment policy situation which has characterised the period since our country’s accession to the European Union in relation to persons with disability and reduced work capacity, as well as, the institutions and instruments which influence the related labour market demand and supply. Adopting a secondary research method the study discusses and analyses the changes that influence the employment willingness of employers and also the willingness to work of the relevant labour market group, as well as, those governmental and civil initiatives which affect the employment of persons with disability and reduced work capacity. On the whole, those changes are summarised which have occurred since our country’s accession to the European Union and contributed to the shaping of the social and economic approach, as well as, to the transformation of the system-of-interest of employers and related employees. |
