Tartalmi kivonat: | In the process of modernization of instruction, those type of curricula and syllabi are emphasized which help development of the students’ abilities and competencies necessary in everyday life. From this respect, one of the most important elements in the competence-based mathematics instruction is the development of problemsolving skills through narrative tasks (DE Corte 1997). In the article, problems and possible causes are outlined. One of the possible problem areas is ’early symbolism’, because this abstract knowledge is not backed up by practical experience or symbolical representation connected to the tasks, which could be acquired through manual skills. In the course book series „Sokszínű Matematika” (Multicolored Mathematics), published by Mozaik Kiadó, the authors attempt to build up these representations gradually and simultaneously. The principles and some momenta of this structure are introduced in the article. |
