Tartalmi kivonat: | At the end of the last century, due to the new political conditions, significant reassessment of the interpretation of history occured, including the cult of national heroes, which got a new perspective. At the begining of 90’s, the community of Romanian nationals from Hungary, while affected by political disorientation and exposed to a process of language and identity assimilation, gets involved in a serious reform period. Simultaneously whith the decline of the malignant international socialism that suposed the spirit of socialist broderhood between nations, Hungarian society openly returns to the glorification of the historical heroic values. As a result of the cohabitation whith the Hungarian society, the Romanian minority became participant of several memorial ceremonies and statue and memorial plaque unveilings. The cult of national heroes becomes a basic element of the foiundation of identity and spirit of congregation. Being rediscovered and stimulated by the Romanian state in the last two decades, while sometimes used as political tool or presented in an exagerated and idyllic manner, the Romanian minority from Hungary actively tries to conform to the new wave of national and local hero cult. But this edeavor rendered more difficult by the lack of the necessary (local) personalities, even the heroes themselves and the low interest of the majority. Considering all this, the Romanian minority from Hungary is making efforts to bring its own heroes into public counsciousness following the Hungarian model. |
