| Tartalmi kivonat: | The formation of sand sheet covers developed in and around the foreground of dunes in the southern margin of the Nyírség was studied in recent years. The sand sheet was formed at the end of the Pleistocene and in the dry periods of the Holocene times based on the sedimentological and palynological analyses of the strata of outcrops and drillings in the area. Pleistocene development and Holocene accumulation are supported by the presence of loess sediments with pollen in the strata and by buried archaeological findings, respectively. |
