Tartalmi kivonat:After the recent emission scandals, the restriction of harmful emissions of cars came to the forefront again. It is expected that in the future a sustainable mobility of the world will be based on electric cars (e-cars), becasuse these cars do not have harmful emissions on local level, and the same is true at the global level, if the energy for cars is made from renewable energy sources. The production of ecars and the displacement of the cars with internal combustion engine are the most important current challenges within the automotive industry. Thus, this paper deals with an actual and practically relevant issue. The main objective of this paper is to forecast the number of e-cars in the world until 2030. The Monte Carlo stochastic simulation method is used to reach this objective using and combining data from existing forecasts. The result of the simulation shows that the number of e-cars will increase in the future: in 2025 we expect more than 30 million e-cars worldwide, the same number being forecasted to exceed 70 million by 2030.
