Tartalmi kivonat: | Frederick Déri was born in 1852 in Bács. In 1873 the family moved to Vienna. In 1882 he joined a silk manufacture which was a sunrise industry in Austria. In 1886 he bought a factory in Bodenstadt in Moravia and in 1899 he established its subsidiary firm in Mähren-Schönberg. Déri assessed the market and the supplies of the factories and became specialized: he started to produce tie silk and scarves. He introduced a lot of interesting production innovations. His products were marketable so in Hungary and abroad as oversees. In 1908 a publication was issued on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Emperor Francis Joseph’s rule. This publication gave a detailed description of the spiritual and economic life. According to its author, among those who were able to dictate fashion, which was widely recognized for a long time, Frederic Déri was one. On the basis of taxes he paid the conclusion can be drawn that it was not World War I. that brought a significant change for his enterprise but the breaking up of the Monarchy and that his factories got on the territory of foreign countries. In 1923 he sold them. |
