Tartalmi kivonat:Experience of strangerness seems to be one of the most favourite common themes of cultural anthropology and literary studies. The aim of this study is to determine the best way to use anthropological methods in literature. The main method of the essay is using life history elements in the interpretation of the poem of Anna Terék. Anna Terék and her poetry comes from a Serbian-Hungarian area (called Vajdaság), the poet is a Hungarian descent living in Serbia, and as is it is wellknown in Europe, living as a minority is never without real problems. And ’the homecoming’ to the mother-country can be traumatic as well. The poetry of Anna involves nationality and cultural identity problems. These sentiments of the lyricist come from real experiences of strangerness from those student years the poet spent in Hungary. As she recalls her memories from those years in the life history interview of this research, she helps us to interpret the symbols of the identity problems in her poems. In this study there is no possibility to interpret all the artworks of the second collection of poems, called Danube Street, that is why the essayist has chosen the most self-explanatory example of the collection. The title of this poem is outLANDer, and as we can believe in the indexes of reciting poetry in Vajdaság, this is the most popular poem amongst Hungarians living in Serbia. For this very reason, dealing with the national roots and force of this poetry can be a feasible solution to the problems of literary anthropology.
