Tartalmi kivonat:The phenomenon of the hidden economy is not a new thing. The hidden economy appeared in the past, when the first taxes were imposed. Since then there are people who would like to avoid tax paying and it is not different even today. Despite of the fact that it is the part of the human society quite a long time, it has been the focus of attention for 30 years (ÉKES, 1993). The topic is very actual. Recently the contries and governments made decisions and took steps to reduce the size of the hidden economy. The hidden economy is not a general topic, every people is interested in it and everbody has opinion about it. In this research paper we try to investigate the attitude of the hungarians in connection with the hidden economy, what they think about it, they know exactly what kind of activities belong to it or not, how big the size of it, and what kind of advantage and disadvantage has it. To gather information about it we did a survey with a questionnaire among the hungarian people. Among others we investigated what they think about the hidden economy, they take part in it and in what way, how they judge the participants and most of all, what is their attitude in connection with the hidden economy.
