Tartalmi kivonat: | Due to the pro-Western turn that took place on 27th March 1941 in Belgrad, Hitler ordered the occupation of Yugoslavia. In this military action, he also wanted to involve Hungary. The Teleki Government did not want to join the war. However, it did not dare to reject the German request and did not want to give up reoccupation of Southern Territories. The Government agreed to collaborate based on an acceptable casus belli. On 10th April, with the announcement of the formation of the Independent State of Croatia, the Kingdom of Yugoslavia split up. The Hungarian Government decided that it would reoccupy Southland without a casus belli or a declaration of war, in order to protect the Hungarian population, and by referring to the restoration of the situation before Trianon. |
