Tartalmi kivonat:What stands behind the flaws in the political socialization of the Hungarian youth?: My research has begun with an invitation to the high school of the Pécsi Apáczai Csere János Általános Iskola, Gimnázium, Kollégium, Alapfokú Művészeti Iskola in Pécs. They asked me to talk about political science for one of the graduating classes on an educational event. Not long before that, I took classes about trainings that can help high school students in the process of political socialization, so I decided to make my own training program and try it with the class. At that point I didn’t expect to do further research, but when the training began I started to write down everything. I realized that there’s a big problem with the researches about the political socialization of youth in Hungary. These researches were concluded with surveys, and they show the passiveness of this generation perfectly, but they don’t try to find the reasons behind the phenomenon. My experience is that these trainings can, and will give us reasons and possible solutions to the problem. In this study I want to show the process and the results of my political socialization training, and share my experiences. I’m planning to do more of such trainings and compare the results. I believe that they will confirm my hypothesis about the main reason of this passiveness and lack of interest in politics. I think that the students had no chance to be politically active, because both the Hungarian educational system and the parents of the students think that it’s not important to talk about politics and the citizens’ duties. If the further research yields the expected results it might be a good completion for the existing materials in the topic.
