Tartalmi kivonat:During the Cold War, in 1956, only Franco’s Spain showed a willingness to promise military intervention to the Hungarian Revolution fi ghting against the Soviet occupation. Th e Spanish head of state considered the Hungarian insurrection as the fi ght against communism. Spain took action on the situation of the Hungarian insurrection with detailed informations through the Ministry of Foreign Aff airs. Th e Spanish government took the initiative and played an active role in the United Nations in connection with the negotiation of the «Hungarian question». Furthermore, a secret plan was also drawn up in order to provide military help for the Hungarian revolution according to diplomatic documents. In order to execute the above mentioned plan the approval of the USA would have been needed. Th e United States refused to approve the plan.
