| Tartalmi kivonat: | The researchers of the Revolution of 1956 mainly wrote about the big university’s role in the freedom fi ght. Counter with that, in this study, I try to review three ’smaller’ higher educational institution aft er 1956. Th is writing compares the communist terror in the Agricultural Academy of Debrecen, Keszthely, and Mosonmagyaróvár. All of the three academies played an important role in the provisory winning against Stalinism in 1956. Aft er the Soviet invasion, many professor and student were mired in academical procedures by the party and state organizations, some of them were discharged from the higher education. Th e revenge of the communists was heavy in all of the three institutions, but there were some diff erences too (the biggest impeachment was in Debrecen). Th e study rests on the documents of the Scientifi c and Cultural Class of the Hungarian Socialist Worker’s Party. |
