| Tartalmi kivonat: | During the summer 1916 the sharif of Mecca, Hussein ibn Ali unleashed an antiOttoman Arab insurgence in the territory of Hedjaz with the British’s support. In the achievement of the success of the insurgence T. E. Lawrence, the English’s spy, who took a part in the Arabs’ fight personally, played a big role in his conduction. The occupation of Akaba was one of the insurgents’ most considerable military successes, but later divers failures were endured in the course of the fights fought against the Turkish. After all, by the occupation of Damascus they found their way near to the desired aim, the Middle Eastern united Arab kingdom’s formation. Finally, they did not get to this dream because of the powers’ resistance, which embittered and shocked extremely Lawrence favouring the Arabs all the time. |
