Tartalmi kivonat:The literature of smaller nations and peoples offers for analysis the history of a pair of concepts from their formation to a synthesis through conflicts. If simplified, the process consists in the development of the relationship between the individual and the collective; more precisely, it is the history of the categories "nationality" /i.e. the belonging to a particular nation/.and "universality" /i.e. universally human, supranational/ as most characteristically manifested in literature. The author proves his thesis with the comparison of periods of literary history and individual literary careers of Uralian literatures as well as excerpts of literary texts.
