| Tartalmi kivonat: | A number of rare minerals were recently discovered in different caves from Romania. Fifteen of them were identified for the first time in the Carpathians. The aim of this paper is to briefly summarize data on those mineral species published in various journals as an update to the recently published topographical mineralogical handbook of the Carpathians. Chemical and mineralogical characterization of these minerals was undertaken by X-ray powder diffraction and fluorescence analyses, energy-dispersive, atomic absorption, infrared spectrometry, thermal and electron-microprobe analyses, optical, transmission, and scanning electron microscope observations. |
