The main objective of the ELI Attosecond Light Pulse Source (ELI-ALPS) pillar is the establishment of a unique attosecond facility that provides ultrashort light pulses between THz and X-ray frequency range with high repetition rates. The simultaneous development and implementation of the building infrastructure together with several interconnected light sources has a great need for broad systems engineering and integration activities. Potential factors influencing these systems engineering and integration activities have been collected and modelled. This based on a literature survey as well as in-house experiences. The model is applied to the system engineering and integration of ELI-ALPS' research technology. © 2017 IEEE.
