Tartalmi kivonat: | Precision dairy farming is the use of technologies to measure physiological, behavioural, and production indicators on individual animals to improve management strategies and farm performance. Larger herds and increasingly complex farming systems, combined with the availability of new information technologies, are prompting an evolution to an increasingly data-driven dairy management approach. The interdisciplinary concept of precision dairy farming sets very high standards for data management. Parameters can be monitored by technologies which include daily milk yield, milk components, step number, temperature (in various places and forms on and within the cow), milk conductivity, automatic estrus-detection monitors, and daily body weight measurements. The objective of this study was to gain new insight into dairy producer decision making and the reasons of adoption of precision systems. |
