In the first chapter I give the outlines of the Tudor concept, the theory .which determined later era's point of view about the Wars of the Roses, and besides I investigate the effect of the influence of the writers of the XVIth century on creating a picture about the war. Shakespeare's works are also play a great part in the theory of the Tudor era, not to mention the power of the contemporary government's right to check all the literaly works. A paralell can be drawn between the actions of the Tudor government and the actions of the Communists regime, because the way they controlled the contemporary works had something in common. As a consequence I would like to give an answer to the question that why it is not wise to divide the history into eras, and in what way can this division influence our concept of history. At the end of the first chapter it is revealed if the Lancastars and Yorks used the white and red rose badge. In the centre of the second chapter stands the outstanding figure of the Wars of the Roses: Henry VI. I deal with his succesful father, Henry V, and examine what could be the possible reason for the outbreak of the civil war. Then a thorough picture is given of Henry VI, including the opinions of his subject about him. In the end, I study the connection between Henry VIPs nervous breakdown and the outbreak of the civil war.
