My intention is to find the reasons of the failure of Wilson's peace programme. However, Woodrow Wilson's speech were based on such principles as equality of nations, collective security, impartial justice and selfdetermination, there were no exact and detailed programmes. Besides, the domestic events were not in favour of the president's peace programme and, additionally, the isolationism of the American policy also make the matter worse. The failure of the peace programme stemmed from the fact that Wilson was unaware of the consequences of his speeches in the international politics. The reason why I chose to write about this topic is that the first world war seems to be a comlex and fascinating event of the 20.th century and means some sort of turn in the human history. The sources of this theme are relatively easy to access and primarily, I used historical books to support my thesis.
