Tartalmi kivonat:This thesis examines teaching vocabulary, a significant part of English Language Teaching (ELT). Within this topic, teaching vocabulary with video materials is presented. The author of the thesis tries to find an answer to the question of whether the use of video helps to fix the vocabulary of the course book. There are three main parts of the thesis. In the first part teaching vocabulary in general is discussed. In addition to the overview of approaches, advice is given to problems or questions that may occur related to teaching vocabulary. In part two, the use of video in the classroom is presented, the possible reasons and purposes of it with its advantages and practice. The process of lessons with video is described in detail. In the third part, the participants, the research and its results are discussed. The answer to the research question— the conclusion — is based on students' questionnaires, test results and an independent outside observer's opinion.
