The Victorian period reflects the real meaning of these words. The life was different from the one we live in now not only because of the change of the fashion but the lifestyle and thinking. The rules they lived according to were strict in the sense of today but some of them should be accepted in our free thinking and liberal society. Etiquette meant the esteem towards each other. In primary schools in 21st century children hardly know anything of the time when women could enjoy men's honour. Even they do not get the basic knowledge of the etiquette from their parents that they should practice in every day life. So teachers' role is to teach these rules and persuade pupils to listen to each other in this sense and give the essential honour to everyone.
