Tartalmi kivonat: | This thesis examines William Golding's Lord of the Flies as a political allegory. According to this approach the main characters stand for different type of political ideologies. I will display the two social systems functioning in the writing; democracy and totalitarianism. I will follow how the initially democratic society turns into autocracy through the novel and I will search for the reasons of that as well. Using the text of the novel and examples from our political history, I will prove that democracy fails here because of the inadequacy of the leadership of Ralph and because of the lack of power sharing. |
