This number accurately represents the dominance of the Faculty of law at the University since more than two thirds of the recipients were students of law. The ceremony was an extraordinary event for both the students and the University since not only the recipients academic achievements were on display but their instructors’ tireless work. The ceremony was attended by heads of state and churchs. A common theme in these events was that the king or his representative was present during the ceremony. To receive this title a candidate had to meet strict requirements, only the morally impeccable were considered who received the best marks throughout middle school and university and their doctoral studies. In case of a tie between more candidates the one whose father did more for the country was favoured this was open for interpolation. In my study I present the life of the sub auspiciis Regis recipients, with special attention to those who later became faculty members of the University. | |
