The mesomorphic properties were investigated by polarised optical microscopy (POM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TA) and X-ray scattering (SWAXS) of bulk materials, while the optical properties of the complex were investigated in solution and in condensed liquid crystalline states.
