Tartalmi kivonat:The East-Slovakian museum of Kassa (Kosice) founded in 1872 is one of the oldest museums of Slovakia. In its collection there are more than 380000 objects wich make it possible to arrange thematic exhibitions. An example of these is the Maria Regina Pads exhibition opened in September 1994 wich shows the different images of Blessed Virgin Mary and the outward forms of her cult. In the collection the images of Virgin Mary are represented by folk sculptures, glasspaintings, printings, means of payment, liturgical textiles, panel pictures and a rich collection of icons. The lecture discussed the icongraphic types of Blessed Mary shown in the museum related to pilgrimage places. Here should be mentioned SaStín/Sasvár, the mostsignificant shrine of Slovaks, to wich the described Pieta and picture of Lady of Seven Sorrows are related. Also significant is the sculpture connencted with Holié/Halics wich differs from the Pieta of Sasvár only in details. A wood-carving shown in the collection is similar to the miraculous statue of Virgin Mary in the church of Tapolcany/Nagytapolcsány from 1634. Then the authors describe the copies of the miraculous pictures and sculptures of Marianka/Máriavölgy, Levoőa/Lócse, Topoléianky/Kistapolcsány, Mala Vieska/Tótkisfalu and KoSice/Kassa. The shrine of Greek-Chatolics is Lutina/Litinye and a type of the assumption of Virgin Mary is related to this place. In Vignove/Visnyó, near Zsolna, the statue of Blessed Mary suckling Little Jesus is venerated by pilgrims. The picture shown was painted on the model of this statue. The Madonna of Loreto is found in the collection of the museum in several copies (sculptures, faience bowls etc.). The different types of the image of Virgin Mary are illustrated in a rich graphical and printed collection.
