Tartalmi kivonat:The essay deals with the beliefs relating to the snakestone blowing and its use in folk medicine in the villages of Szernye-marsh (Suncarpathia, tuday Ukraine) on the basis of a hundred marratives. In these stories the circumstances of the stone-blowings are mostly corresponding: usually in spring in the forest or in the hillside heaping up a lot of snakeheads, blowing the stone with a murmuring sound. The snakestone is round or oval, its size is like a nut, a peach, a plum or an egg and it is 'iridescent'. The snakestone has a healing power. It is usually used for the heal of people, rarely of animals and mainly for the cure of dermatitis. It was also used in case of eye diease and snake-bite. The way of healing was the so called 'rounding' and it was successful only in the hand of competent experts.
