Tartalmi kivonat: | The paper presents the first findings of the study of a previously completely unexplored source group, prayerbooks. Although famous individuals and the authors of prayerbooks have written on the subject, there are hardly any syntheses or scholarly works on prayerbooks. This is especially true regarding the prayerbooks published after the Baroque period. We have been collecting for years and building up a digital database on prayerbooks with the aim of filling this gap. In the present article the author sets out the need to explore this genre, the benefits such a study will bring, the development of prayerbooks after 1800 and the major trends in the publication of prayerbooks. |
