Tartalmi kivonat:During World War 2 Szeged served as the key cultural, economic, military and trade centre of the Southern Great Plain in Hungary, also being an important water transport and railway junction. No wonder that Allied intelligence services took notice of the town early on, starting to collect reconnaissance information about Szeged’s most important establishments and objects in order to prepare for their destruction. In my study I dissect the town’s Second World War military geography, and look into how strategic targets in Szeged were located.
