Furthermore, with the diffusion of innovation systems thinking, and the emerging empirics of evolutionary economic geography, increasing attention is paid to the dynamism of spatial systems and networks. In this paper we review the theoretical background and recent empirical evidence on research topics of economic geography where network analysis and a dynamic perspective were adopted. These topics are (1) local knowledge networks behind clusters and (2) industrial dynamics of regional economies.
