From olistolites within the tuffitic parts of this formation a complete highly fossiliferous Silurian sequence (similar to the Silurian of the Cellon section in the Carnic Alps, and consisting mainly of pelagic micritic limestones, among these also nautiloid limestones) could be reconstructed. The geological evolution of the UpponyMts from the Upper Ordovician up to the Bashkirian (Middle Carboniferous) is briefly discussed (Fig. 1 and 2). | |
