Symbiotic EOL systems

Cell symbiosis is described by EOL systems whose (direct) derivations are introduced on free monoids generated by finite sets of words consisting of one or two symbols. A single symbol represents a cell existing separately while two cells living symbiotically are represented by a pair of symbols. By...

A single symbol represents a cell existing separately while two cells living symbiotically are represented by a pair of symbols. By using these systems, context sensitive and recursively enumerable languages are characterized. Thus, the presented modification remarkably increases the generative capacity of the classic concept of EOL systems.
